In a pilot study of 43 consecutive patients, the AI tool flagged 13 of 16 acute non-lacunar infarcts, yielding a diagnostic accuracy of 81%. On average, nine MRI sequences were acquired per patient; with the AI-enabled system this was reduced to four. The mean reporting time was 4 hours 1 minute, with 14% of cases reported after 6 hours. The use of the AI flagging system shortened this to approximately 20 minutes.
Apollo detected most urgent stroke cases (around 8 out of 10) and significantly reduced MRI scan sequences and reporting times. This allows patients with suspected brain infarcts to be identified and reported within minutes instead of hours, enabling faster clinical response.
