This opinion paper highlights the ongoing transformation of MRI systems from static to dynamic, algorithm-driven operations. AI-powered MRI systems can automatically tailor scanning protocols to each patient by analyzing early image sequences such as FLAIR, DWI, T2*, GRE, and SWI.
This automation could transform a manual, time-consuming setup into a rapid, one minute process. During acquisition, the AI continuously monitors image quality and clinical indicators, detecting potential issues or critical findings and alerting technologists or radiologists in real time.
By enabling adaptive scanning and intelligent feedback, this approach enhances workflow consistency, boosts throughput, and strengthens diagnostic reliability across brain MRI procedures.
