Copenhagen, August 2025 – Cerebriu, a pioneer in AI for MRI, today announced two major
milestones: the CE-marking of Apollo Smart Protocol as an OEM-embedded solution within
Siemens Healthineers MRI consoles, and the successful closing of a €9.4 million strategic
financing round led by North Ventures and Sagitta.
The CE-mark represents a regulatory breakthrough – marking the first-ever clearance for
embedded clinical AI in MRI systems from a leading global manufacturer. Combined with
new funding, it paves the way for global deployment of intelligent MRI.
“Radiology is at a pivotal inflection point, where smart clinical AI will define scanner
performance,” said Robert Lauritzen, CEO & Co-founder of Cerebriu. “CE-marking of the
OEM-embedded Apollo Smart Protocol validates the robustness of our technology and
proves that AI can be seamlessly integrated into MRI systems at scale. Combined with this
new investment, we are ready to expand global access to smarter, patient-centered MRI.”
AI That Redefines MRI Workflows
Cerebriu’s Apollo Smart Protocol enables MRI technologists to adapt imaging protocols in
real time, while the patient is still in the scanner. The AI makes it possible to tailor sequences
based on detected pathologies, resulting in more personalized, efficient, and complete
imaging in a single exam.
“We’re excited to work with Cerebriu to further unlock smarter MRI workflows. Their ability
to integrate AI seamlessly into clinical practice has the potential to accelerate productivity
and open new value for both providers and industry,” said Dr. Florian Meise, VP MR
Portfolio, Partners & Digital at Siemens Healthineers.
Funding Fuels Global Rollout
The €9.4 million investment round was led by North Ventures, with participation from EIFO,
family offices, and private investors. The round builds on Cerebriu’s €17.4 million Series A
in 2024, bringing the company’s total funding to €26.8 million. It marks the company’s shift
from co-development to scaled commercial deployment with OEM partners.
“We see Cerebriu as a foundational enabler of intelligent imaging. Their OEM-first approach,
platform focus, and strategic discipline are rare at this stage – this round gives them the fuel to
fully deliver,” said Jacob Enevoldsen, Founding Partner at North Ventures.
Expanding Access Worldwide
With CE-marking secured for the OEM-integrated Apollo Smart Protocol and strategic
partnerships underway with other MRI vendors, Cerebriu is now scaling its Apollo Suite
across Europe, the US, Asia, and the Middle East. The company is now working toward FDA
clearance.
